Coop shenanigans

Poor Wilma and Betty! Charlie and Maude will still not let them on the roosting bar at night!

Hubby put up another divider yesterday. We were hoping that would work.

It didn't. When I put them in last night, Maude went on one end and Charlie on the other. W & B tried to hop up on the space in the middle, but the King and Queen bit their feet. I went into the coop and picked up Wilma (Charlie went after me) and put her in the middle. What a ruckus! Betty stayed in the nest box out of the way. Today we will put cardboard dividers so they can't see one another
really starting to think I should have bought a goat instead of more chickens!

But then, I wouldn't get these:

King Charlie taking a nap. He's exhausted:

The Queen looking for a shady spot:

Beginning to think the sometimes having a really, really dull day isn't so bad after all......

  1. Sounds kind of like running a chickie day care where some of the kid don't play well with others. :)

  4. If Maude is the problem, remove her for a week or two. Then reintroduce her, that should disrupt the current pecking order.

    1. Wish I had somewhere else to put her, but I don't, Judy. As in all types of critters, they will have to learn their place. At one time Maude's life was made miserable for a time by Laverne and Shirley. They eventually worked it out though. Just takes time. :o)
