Some excitement in Coopville....

It was breezy yesterday, but not so much that it would knock a tree down. Or was it?

The big tree in  front of the house that the vultures roost in came crashing down!

I heard: Snap, snap, bang, bang and creeeeek!

It pulled a lot of wires down from the pole and I guess the transformer exploded because the tree caught on fire.

We have a small electric company co-op and they did a fine job of cutting down the burning tree.

They put out the limb fire and stacked them on a neighbor's property. Hubby will take the backhoe and remove them today.

Two crane trucks handled all the work.

With the cranes, they dropped the rest of the tree behind our stone wall. Hubby will cut that up today, too.

No one's property was damaged and our wall is missing just a few rocks. It will be easy to fix!

The power was only out for about two and a half hours.

I hope the vultures pick another tree close by. I enjoy having them around... and so thankful the tree didn't fall the other way and hit our house.

    1. So thankful for that, Gorges. Hubby just cleaned up the limbs that were across the road on a neighbor's property and is now cutting up the tree on ours. It won't go to waste!
