It WAS a long trip and we had to go under the speed limit. The pickup bed was FULL! It is the same route we take during the rest of the year, but the snow made it seem so different!

Wonderful! I remember trips with my Dad, into town, across the Chemung river to either Sayre, Pennsylvania or Waverly, New York. We were right on the border. The snow covering the fields, black ice lurking to trap the unwary. Snow was a great new toy as a kid, these days the idea of snow is greeted with horror. Spring is 'acomin.
ReplyDeleteKnow all to well what you mean about the snow! Used to love it - couldn't wait to get out in my Bronco and go 4-wheeling. Alas those days are over now & the fireplace is just as nice!

ReplyDeleteToo many of them Gorges - the kids aren't staying and going into farming now a days. Some of those old homes are just beautiful.
