We finally got rid of those ugly tarps covering the pen!
Very, very easy to put the frame together. It took us old folks only about twenty minutes
to put the frame together and another ten to attach the cover!
Now the fun part - taking down the old tarps and the plywood top (which was rotted out from
the tarps always leaking).
It was a lot of work for just the two of us - we really should have waited for our sons to help....
... but we are both 'rock heads' and finished the project.
A 10 x10 pen is really bigger than you think it is!
We made a ramp from a couple of long board and tied a rope to the frame. I pulled from the front side and Hubby pushed it along the boards in the back. It slid to the top with no problems.
Charlie and the girls did not like all the noise we were making - and they let us know about it, too!
Finished!!!!!
It was really worth all the hard work - it looks so much better and a lot neater! Next Winter we will probably have to throw a large tarp over the top to keep the snow out and I'll have to make plastic shades for the sides. But not right now - we're pooped!
Het, I think that I could live in that in warm weather! lol
ReplyDeleteIt will be a lot brighter inside with that old roof gone - and if it does get wet in there, it will dry out a lot faster. Think I'll plant some flowers around it too!
DeleteThe proper approach is to guilt you children into coming out and doing it for you. Then stand back and supervise.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Maybe when we get really, really old, we'll have to ask for help, but we would try to do it ourselves first. We're stubborn that way! :o).
