Mission complete!

For three days he's been trying to get that tree stump out of the ground

Hubby starting to tie that ol stump up

... to the mighty Chevy pick-up:

Didn't work - so he started chopping away at it again

 and again all morning long!

He FINALLY pulled it out with the backhoe

And then added more stones to the back wall.

Good job, Hubby!!  :0)

  1. from an old stump jumper I will tell you what we always did we always cut the tree about three feet up that way you have a lever to pull the stump over if you put some tension on one side pulling with a tractor or a comealong you can start cutting the roots on the opposite side and gradualy pull and cut from one side to the other the tension makes the roots pull tight and there for easier to cut they don't bonce away from your ax your friend truckwilkins

    1. Hubby says thank you, Truck for the info! - this was a really bad stump. The roots had grown over and around huge boulders. Some were ever bigger than the ones in the last picture! So many rocks here. We'd be rich if we could sell the dang things! :0)
