These were from some trees he had cut down during the summer. It will have to be split and seasoned for another year. We have rows and rows of the good stuff to last us for a long, long time.
Mostly about my backyard chickens. (Boring, I know), but there are a lot of us out here. Mine are only kept as pampered pets. I could eat a neighbor's chicken, but not MINE. There may be a comment on current events only if I get riled up enough. And there will always be a cartoon or a joke to cheer us. I promise to try my very best to respond to comments. Now I have to figure out how this blogger thingy works....

I wish my woodstove was still hooked up. It would help a lot, now that I'm not working! I hope you have a great 2014!
ReplyDeleteAnd a very Happy New Year to you and yours, Gorges! May you be blessed with good health, much happiness and good fortune! (and especially for a hook-up for your stove to keep you warm and toasty)!
DeleteI dunno why, but there is something about a pile of firewood like that that is beautiful. It's like putting money in the bank, but you are able to see your balance right there in front of you.
DeleteDoes look kind of pretty, doesn't it? The log splitter was the first thing we bought when we came up here. (and it sure beats paying for fuel oil)!
