Thursday in Coopville

Had light rain falling most of the day;

 The basil is starting to poke up in the deck box. When they get bigger, I'll transfer some to another one. Can never have too much basil!

 Some of the sun flowers seeds are ready to plant around the yard:

 Hubby was bored, so he dug up the Rose of Sharon bushes:

 ... and moved them to the edge of our property line with the neighbor that has the horses:

 He'll level it off and plant grass. Looks odd not seeing them there!

 It was just too wet to let the gang out. I really didn't feel up to chasing them around:

 Right after I put them in for the night, the sky cleared.

 Poor Laverne tried twice to jump up on the roosting bar. I finally went in the coop, picked her up and placed her there.  She is so thin. Maybe after a good night's sleep, she'll have some more energy.

  1. We named our basil plants, rathbone.
    I have never, ever, let on to my wife that I was bored. She has a list of things to do!

  2. Maybe you need to put in a really low roost for Laverne.

    1. Guess I'll have to do that for her, Gorges. Maybe she was just tired - she hopped up there this afternoon.

  3. Hi Chickenmom, what are the little round things you have the Sunflower seeds in? I want to plant some along my back fence but so far have failed to get them going.
    Love your little Chickie babes.

    1. They came with the seed starter set. I got them at Tractor Supply but any store that has a garden section should have them. They are like tiny hockey pucks and when you add water they balloon up. Just drop the seed in and keep it watered. The whole thing gets planted in the ground when the seeds sprout. I have a few filled with spaghetti squash seeds, too! I know you will have good luck with them!

  4. Thank you, I will look at our local hardware store and see if they know what they are.
