Getting ready....

........ for the snow and cold arctic blast heading our way!

Filled the coop up with lots of fresh hay....

and made sure no drafts could find their way in overnight.

Poor Charlie did get some frostbite on his crown. Laverne & Shirley are fine, though.

Because it's going to be so cold, I gave them extra treats to nibble on. Their treat ball was filled with cabbage and some bird suet with seeds. Plus they had some cantaloupe - you can see what's left on the ground:

This kept all of them busy for quite a while!

That toy was a good investment. It keeps them from getting too bored. If you have or know someone that has chickens, let them know about it. It did take them a while to get to like it, though!
