Mostly about my backyard chickens. (Boring, I know), but there are a lot of us out here. Mine are only kept as pampered pets. I could eat a neighbor's chicken, but not MINE. There may be a comment on current events only if I get riled up enough. And there will always be a cartoon or a joke to cheer us. I promise to try my very best to respond to comments. Now I have to figure out how this blogger thingy works....

Kinda chilly this morning.....
..... and it's only s going to be worse this weekend when the winds starts a-blowing!
Noticed this morning that Charlie had a little bit of frostbite on his comb; the girls are fine.

It might have happened during the day - I have a 100 watt bulb turned on in the coop. It's cold, their water freezes in there overnight, but the coop is draft free.
Could you use a kerosene lantern (very carefully) to give them a little warmth in the coop at night, or is it happening outside during the day?
