Notice when Charlie goes by the gate, he bobs his head up and down and calls? He's letting them know there is food to eat!
It's fun to watch the girls try to steal the bits from each other - Sophia and Maude have to learn to be a bit faster!
:o)
Mostly about my backyard chickens. (Boring, I know), but there are a lot of us out here. Mine are only kept as pampered pets. I could eat a neighbor's chicken, but not MINE. There may be a comment on current events only if I get riled up enough. And there will always be a cartoon or a joke to cheer us. I promise to try my very best to respond to comments. Now I have to figure out how this blogger thingy works....
Made a maggot feeder for ours. Currently filling it with poor quality layers the missus had harvested as fryers (gamier tasting than anything you'd ever hunt in the woods). They eat the maggots as they fall out, then pick the bones clean when we swap it for fresh meat. Win/win.
ReplyDeleteRecycling at it's finest! Good idea you two have! I only have 4 hens and a rooster as pets. Once I named them...... :o) Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
DeleteNamed the cats, but never the kids. Chickens are food...and you never name food ;-)
ReplyDeleteAny others, I could - but not mine! It's their eyes.... and such cute faces.... and how they follow me around like puppy dogs looking for treats..... and.... :o)
