Ugh..

Yesterday was scrub the coop day, and boy, it sure did need it! Dusty cobwebs all over the place:

 All washed out and disinfected!

The day wasn't as warm as the weatherman said it was going to be, so Hubby used the leaf blower to help the inside dry a little faster:

Maude looking for something to eat in the old hay:

The rest came over to inspect the pile, too. Sorry gang - only poopsies in there!

Had to lock the hatch door to keep them out while the inside was drying:

Poultry dust was sprinkled in the nest boxes before fresh straw and hay were put down - don't want or need mites to bite them.

 ... and for the inside:

Charlie was upset - he had to make a nest for his girls again. He hates for the coop to be disrupted:

I do this every six months - the deep cleaning, that is.
Regular cleaning is just a given.

I'm glad that is over! What used to take only a few hours now takes ALL day.
It really is a lot of work, but having them around is worth it!

:o)
