I've always wanted a set, but could never afford it.
In perfect condition, too - not one chip on either piece!!!!
This old cigar box held some surprises, too:
An old corkscrew:
Needles from Japan - not a one was rusty!
Did not expect to see this:
(front)
(back)
All made in Germany
And inside was:
This little box was a real treat:
Chicken recipe cards!!
All of the above for only $20.00!!!!
:o)
Wow! What a great estate sale. I love the pitcher and bowl set and the needle cards speak to my sewing soul. But my favorite of your treasures has to be the chicken recipe cards. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThat cigar box held a lot of treats! I remember my Mom having those needle cards.
DeleteWhat a find. All I usually see is either junque or over priced but I am usually at an antique store or yard sale. Need to start checking out estate sales more often. I REALLY NEED more good stuff. :)
ReplyDeleteNOT!!!!
DeleteCan never have too much good stuff. Terry! Maybe you can find some RR trinkets!
Delete(But only if dmt lets 'ya. Bwahahahaha!)
Cute find. I am a fan of farm auctions and estate sales.
ReplyDeleteThis was at an old house - the guy's parents had passed away and he was moving out of state but wanted the items to go to people who would appreciate the older items.
DeleteWow. You really hit the jackpot. Nothing like finding treasure.
ReplyDeleteOh, there were soooo many things that I would have loved to have displayed there!
DeleteThat was a good haul!
ReplyDeleteYou would have loved it Gorges - plenty of old farm tools in the barn!
DeleteNice finds and only $20!!! I always look for old tea cups. I remember an old needlebook like that from my childhood. Must have been my grandmothers..I am fairly certain my mother never sewed anything!
ReplyDeleteIt was odd - no dishes whatsoever. Maybe someone got to them before we got there.
DeleteI was surprised to find the pitcher and washbowl just sitting on top of a work bench!
