.... with NO shell!!
This was the only egg in the nest box the other day, so I don't know who's it is:
Almost like a water balloon!
Squish!
Only a teeny, tiny bit of shell on the end:
Look closely and you can see the round yolk inside!
The egg most likely came from Sophia or Maude. Sometimes when they start their egg laying cycle it can get a little wacky until their systems get used to the process. Stress can also affect the eggs, too.
With them being the newcomers and chased a lot by Charlie, Laverne and Shirley is another reason for them to plop an odd one out. They get the best of feed plus calcium supplements and plenty of veggies, so I know it wasn't caused by a bad diet. The next day, the eggs were perfect!
I've seen this before but it always amazed me when it happened :))
