I still miss him so...
Mostly about my backyard chickens. (Boring, I know), but there are a lot of us out here. Mine are only kept as pampered pets. I could eat a neighbor's chicken, but not MINE. There may be a comment on current events only if I get riled up enough. And there will always be a cartoon or a joke to cheer us. I promise to try my very best to respond to comments. Now I have to figure out how this blogger thingy works....

I miss my dad, too, Cm. He's been gone for 30 years now.
ReplyDeleteThat ache is always there, isn't it? I miss sharing my life with him. I miss his laughter and the sound of him whistling...and his wonderful tales.
DeleteTho I miss my Dad, he worked swing shift in a factory for 35 yrs and was gone a lot or sleeping when we home, so Mom was the one we kids clung to. So I miss my Mama more it seems.
ReplyDeleteMy Mom only lasted for three more years. She was a wonderful, kind, loving woman. I wish I could be more like her. I miss them both.
DeleteWe lost mom first...then my dad 18months later....and as for you....you're kind to chickens, how much more loving could you be :))
ReplyDeleteI'm really a pain in the arse, Mamahen - and I don't think chickens count for very much! But thanks anyway! LOL :0)
DeleteMy Dad was born in 1917 also and was in the Navy. NATS, Naval Air Transport Service. Passed in 1984. We loved to fish together when I was young. Miss him.

Mine was in the CG and he taught me how to fish. He loved going for the blues. Used to bring them home all gutted and wrapped in newspapers. I got to poke the eyes out......
