Charlie's frostbite

The frostbitten part of Charlie's wattle has finally fallen off! There is no hole in it to

 catch on anything.

Yup, his neck is bald.The girls just kept picking on the feathers as they came in. He needs a scarf!

Lots of scar tissue and just some black bits attached, but the largest parts have fallen off. He looks kind of lop-sided but that's OK - he doesn't know it.

I think what really happened is that when he drank from the waterer, his wattles were always getting wet. And they froze. I have learned many, many lessons this winter. The hard way.....
