I love old barns too...we have lots of tobacco barns around here...I've asked Ken if we could take a day or two and just go round and let me take photos of them...Great Scott's, he has agreed! So one day soon...But you keep on clicking your camera, and video...cause I love your subject matter!

    1. Those photos were all on the main roads. Will have to take a ride on the back ones soon - hasn't change much in 100 years!

  4. Really, really fun pictures.
Your hubby could make a pond, and you could have ducks too! They eat slugs and snails.

    1. They were so darn cute! But Hubby's favorite words to me are: "NO, no, NO!" (I ain't getting an adorable mini goat either......)

  5. Ah-Haaaaaa-haaaaa!!!
He'd want ducks if you're plagued by slugs like they are on the West side of the Cascades. Worked for a greenhouse one summer long ago. Hot summer days we'd all pot stuff up in a shaded outside area. The owner had a "herd" of ducks that would spend the days cleaning up slugs from the entire area.

By quitting time, we'd see these ducks waddling home with their craws dragging on the ground and with slug-slime hanging off their bills...happily quacking amongst themselves. Next day they'd set out to do it all again.

    1. That must have looked funny! Not too many slimy slugs here. If I forget to bring in the waterer from under the deck overnight, there may be one or two small ones under it, but that's all. Not enough of 'em to convince Hubby, though!
