Even with the coop windows closed, his voice travels through the quiet country night. And enters MY window. Usually around 3:30. Every day. Even when it is dark and raining. Now they are all up and belly-aching for breakfast.
I absolutely refuse to go out there until dawn.

Well, at that hour of the day, you KNOW it ain't the sun's first golden rays streaking through the window.
ReplyDeleteDuring the day, they will answer a neighbor's rooster. No one has ever figured out what starts them in the dead of the night. It's just a myth about waking up with the sun!
