Shibuya music clock


A musical clock in Shibuya, Tokyo is designed to put on an unusual show while it plays music. Watch as different sections slowly unwrap and move around to show the intricate parts of this bizarre timepiece.




I cannot find any other information on it - only videos. Would love to know who built it and why!

    I couldn't find anything else about it either but I ended up reading the Wiki entry on Japanese clocks:

    I did not know that they had a whole different method of timekeeping with unequal hours until they switched in 1873 to the western system with equal hours.
