At the Hop!

Bobby Darin!

Splish, splash, I was takin' a bath
Long about a Saturday night, yeah
A rub dub, just relaxin' in the tub
Thinkin' everythin' was alright
Well, I stepped out the tub
I put my feet on the floor
I wrapped the towel around me and I
Opened the door
And then a-splish, splash
I jumped back in the bath
Well, how was I to know
There was a party goin' on?
There was a-splishin' and a-splashin'Reelin' with the feelin'
Movin' and a-groovin'
Rockin' and a-rollin', yeah, yeah
Bing, bang, I saw the whole gang
Dancin' on my living room rug, yeah
Flip, flop, they was doin' the bop
All the teens had the dancin' but
There was lollipop with a Peggy Sue
Good golly, Miss Molly was-a even there, too
A- well-a, splish, splash, I forgot about the bath
I went and put my dancin' shoes on, yeah
I was a-rollin' and a-strollin'
Reelin' with the feelin'
Movin' and a-groovin'
Splishin' and a-splashin', yeah
Yes, I was a-splishin' and a-splashin'
I was a-rollin' and a-strollin'
Yeah, I was a-movin' and a-groovin'
We was a-reelin' with the feelin'
We was a-rollin' and a-strollin'
Movin' with the groovin'
Splish, splash, yeah
Splishin' and a-splashin'
One time I was splishin' and a-splashin'
Ooh, I was movin' and a-groovin'
Yeah, I was splishin' and a-splashin'

Friday Night Steam

Wow! All I need is a bigger house with a basement, lotsa money and I'd be all set!

My brother had a lot of the 'action cars' when he was a young boy. Wonder what ever  happened to them...

:o)

Today's funny :o)

Ahhhh, Spring!

Went to....

Went to Tractor Supply yesterday to pick up 50 pounds of feed for the gang.
They were having a sale and I spotted this:

Kinda reminds me of this fella:

Hubby getting wood ready to burn for 2019:

My favorite tree in Coopville - Old Gnarly:

Hubby also cut the lawn:

Now we just need flowers - lots and lots of flowers!

Took the plastic off three sides of the pen, It will still get wet in there if it rains, but at least enough air can get in there to dry it out. Still have the tarp on the roof, though. The gang had feast eating all the bugs that were under the plastic!

Let's go back in time....

Be still, my beating heart .... sigh....

(make sure you use the HD setting)

:o)

Today's funny :o)

A BIG H/T to Wild River!

Nineteen Californians go to the movies. The ticket lady asks "Why so many of you?"
Buddy replies, "The film said 18 or over."

My daughter asked me for a pet spider for her birthday, so I went to our local pet shop and they were $70.
Forget it, I thought, I can get one
cheaper off the web.

I was at an A.T.M. yesterday. A little old lady asked if I could check her balance, so I pushed her over.

Statistically, six out of seven dwarfs are not Happy.

My neighbor knocked on my door at 2:30 am. Can you believe that! 2:30 amLuckily for him, I was still up playing my bagpipes.

The wife was counting all the nickels and dimes out on the kitchen table when she suddenly got very angry and started shouting and crying for no reason.
I thought to myself, "She's going through the change."

My girlfriend thinks that I'm a stalker.
Well, she's not exactly my
girlfriend yet.

An East Indian fellow has moved in next door. He has traveled the world, has swum with sharks, has wrestled bears and climbed the highest mountain.
It
came as no surprise to learn his name was Bindair Dundat.

Just some pics:

We've had a bear walk up our driveway every morning this week. I am NOT going to go outside and try to get a pic of it. It had knocked down the neighbor's bird seed feeder last week. He took it down and will put it up again next Winter. Lots of critters abound here in Coopville - bears,  damn deer, bunnies and groundhogs. Pretty soon the flat possums will decorate the road. Ahhh, Spring!

More vultures are roosting:

Have no idea what these are - just growing in one small patch. If they get flowers, I'll take
 a photo of 'em!

Lots and lots of these - they have no scent, but are pretty:

Two more tulips popped up:

We are going to have a lot of lilies!

Liliacs:

Mr. Froggy - he lives by the deck. The gang always knock him over....

Hubby hung up the rooster wind chime yesterday - I love the sound it makes!

Charlie:

A peek of India munching on some hay:

Not just an ordinary cinder block...

You can make a flower planter with them:

Some "yard art":

Fence posts:

Grow some veggies ( I use them to plant my potatoes):

A cool looking bench:

 A neat firewood holder:

A bookcase

And even stairs!

What have you ever used them for?

:o)

Today's funny :o)

:o)

Just stuff....

A huge mushroom popped up on the lawn - the gang did not even go near it:

Ant hills.....

.... lots of em!

One of the two chicken hawks that have a nest across the road but spend a lot of time in Coopville looking for squirrels.  If you turn the volume up you can hear the"scree" sound they make. The crows always let me know when they are around and usually chase them away.

The dogwood tree is starting to bloom:

Johnny Jumps:

All over the yard!

The prisoners:

The poopie bin is full - again:

One of the vultures checking out a spot to roost for the night:

He didn't stay. He preferred a tree in the swamp instead.

A pretty sunset.

Soon all the leaves will block Sunrise Mountain from my view - will have to wait until fall to see it again.

Friday Night Steam

The Camelback Locomotive

The Camelback Steam Locomotives

Camelbacks, while not necessarily the safest such design ever conceived were certainly one of the most unique. The Camelback is not a named wheel arrangement like the 4-6-2 Pacific or 2-8-4 Berkshire but a term only meant to describe a distinctive design feature found on some steam locomotives. While Camelbacks were banned citing safety concerns in the early 20th century they proved quite successful to the anthracite carriers, who could use them to burn a cheap and plentiful anthracite coal waste known as culm. The design also made John E. Wootten famous for his patented Wootten firebox. Today, at least three of these unique designs remain preserved around the country although none are operational.
The Camelback received its name for the unique positioning of the locomotive cab which sat astride the boiler giving the design a center "humped" appearance. While the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad developed something similar to the later Camelback in the 1840s, given the interesting name of "Muddiggers," it was not until John Wootten (who worked for the Philadelphia & Reading Railroad, a Reading Railroad predecessor) patented his Wootten firebox and boiler design in 1877 did the design really catch on.  This particular designed allowed for the burning of the fuel the locomotive used by providing a very wide, large firebox that produced robust fires yet only utilized a consumed a small amount at a time with a low firing rate.

Lets go for a ride!

Hubby and I took  a trip to the Farmer's Market the other day.
Look at all the forsythia and trees  blooming!!

Some cows enjoying green grass:

A tulip popped up! Don't know where it came from, but it's staying!

The gang waiting to get out and cause trouble:
