Friday Night Steam

We're off to Sweden tonight to look a really cool steam engine!






Förstlingen the first steam built and used in Sweden. It was constructed by engineer Harald Asplund
and built by Munktells mechanical workshop in Eskilstuna and maiden voyage took rooms June 2 1853.
The "Project Förstlingen" has since 1982 been working to produce a reconstruction of the full scale of Förstlingen. She was completed and taken in operation 22 May 2004.
At the celebration of the Swedish railway's 150th anniversary June 5, 2006 in Nora the copy of Förstlingen
were run by H.M.K Carl XVI Gustaf.
