Mostly about my backyard chickens. (Boring, I know), but there are a lot of us out here. Mine are only kept as pampered pets. I could eat a neighbor's chicken, but not MINE. There may be a comment on current events only if I get riled up enough. And there will always be a cartoon or a joke to cheer us. I promise to try my very best to respond to comments. Now I have to figure out how this blogger thingy works....
Glad to see you posting again. You have winter there. Is it difficult keeping you furry chicken from getting frost bite on their legs due to all the hair?
ReplyDeleteThose are Silkies, Theresa. I just found that pic on the internet. They are a really cute and fuzzy breed, but take a lot of maintenance to keep them looking like that! Charlie's girls are a mix of Rhode Island Reds and whatevers. Very, very hardy boids. It gets mighty cold in Coopville during the winter!
DeleteThose fluffy looking chickens are cute!! Until they turn into raptors...
ReplyDeleteHeh-heh- and the DO bite! LOL! :o)
DeleteSilkies are chicks with character!
ReplyDeleteThey sure are! Always tempted to pick up a few at the "chicken" shows. They are just so adorably doofy looking!
DeleteWe always sold out of those chicks first when I worked at the feedstore.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter used to have one, and she called her Phyllis, after Phyllis Diller.
LOL! Too funny - That's what my boss used to called me!!
DeleteWe have one Silky in the herd. Her name is Amadeus, Her topknot looks like Mozart some days and Beethoven on others. A Silky in full gallop is a riot.
ReplyDeleteLove you chick's name! I always wondered what Charlie would do if I bought one or two home.... :o)
