We're going "Down Under" tonight! All aboard!
And a special treat:
Lots and lots of info here:

and here:

:o)
Mostly about my backyard chickens. (Boring, I know), but there are a lot of us out here. Mine are only kept as pampered pets. I could eat a neighbor's chicken, but not MINE. There may be a comment on current events only if I get riled up enough. And there will always be a cartoon or a joke to cheer us. I promise to try my very best to respond to comments. Now I have to figure out how this blogger thingy works....
You outdid yourself today. That last video with all the steam locomotives pulling one train was amazing. Loved it. And so much information in the linked articles.
ReplyDeleteWas lucky I found the last one! It WAS wonderful! :o)
DeleteThanks from a guy that can remember the coal burners running the route past our farm. Now even the tracks have been pulled out.
ReplyDeleteAnd when were kids, we took them for granted. Oh, how I miss the sound of them!
DeleteI really enjoyed these videos... there is just something special about a steam locomotive... I love them!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed them Carol! They are very, very special! :o)
DeleteFurther to your Friday nite Steam post: In their infinite jealousy the separate states in Australia; mainly New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia, all changed the rail gauge at their various borders.
ReplyDeleteThis meant that when the train arrived at a State border, you embarked from the train and re boarded another train that matched the rail gauge system of that state.
Insane? Yes.
Prime Minister Paul Keating, in the 1990's changed that 150 year old system.
Thanks, Granny. Was curious about the different gauges!
