Usually there are a lot of them with babies following them around. I guess the coyotes got them this year. Neighbor had a wild cat with two kittens living under her shed. One of the kittens was found dead, partially eaten by them. At night I can hear coyotes yipping on our property - sounds as if there are a lot of them.
We haven't seen many around here this year either. Of course like you,we have a over abundance of coyotes :((
