When they are put in the coop for the night there is a lot of bickering and pecking for the best spot on the roosting bar. Of course Ethel and Lucy get the prime locations. Goldie pecks at their feet to try to get them to move, but they are a lot bigger than he is and bite him back!
If Amos & Andy try to sit next to them, Goldie bites them too. Charlie just doesn't care where he sleeps. He is so easy going and laid back.
It's fun watching to see if Evil Ethel will be dethroned in the near future. So far, she still rules the roost with her mighty beak.
Is Queen of the Coop like "Queen of the Hop"?

DeleteLove Dave - His funniest column was the one about re-capped tire pieces crossing the highway during the night. As for me new name: 'tis true - bad knees, a wee bit of Irish and a terror with me sword and hook!
Some how I just knew you would be a Dave Berry fan. I don't remember that column but will look for it.

It's a really, really old one (maybe 15 or so years ago) - but so funny.
