A funky egg!

Sometimes the girls will lay a "rubber" egg.
There is no shell - only a thin  membrane holds in the yolk:

Blood spots do not indicate a fertilized egg. These tiny blood spots on yolks are not harmful and are caused by the rupture of a blood vessel during the formation of the egg.

I put it on the ground and it broke - The yolk was not runny:

They all love eggs and here Benji was calling the other ones over to share this one:

The girls have never broken their own eggs to eat. They only eat them if I break it for them!

:o)

  2. Every one in a while I'll get one of the eggs. Don't know what hen it belonged to.
