It's raw, cold and damp out again.
When Hubby and I came back from the store I let the gang out for a while. There wasn't much grass for them to walk on so they came up on the deck to look for some treats:
Of course they got their Cheerios! They like to be hand fed, but not touched.
Shirley (in the middle) is getting really skittish. I guess Laverne will be the top hen with Lucy out of coop.
The new tarp we put over the pen is working well - no snow was in the there and for once everything stayed dry. The coop is a lot cleaner without mud being carried in on their feet. That means a lot less work for Chickenmom.
As I write this (Tuesday night), Lucy is still hanging in there - but sleeping.
Mostly about my backyard chickens. (Boring, I know), but there are a lot of us out here. Mine are only kept as pampered pets. I could eat a neighbor's chicken, but not MINE. There may be a comment on current events only if I get riled up enough. And there will always be a cartoon or a joke to cheer us. I promise to try my very best to respond to comments. Now I have to figure out how this blogger thingy works....
