Yesterday morning after letting the gang out:
It's darn damn cold here in Coopville! Brrrrrrrrr!
Mostly about my backyard chickens. (Boring, I know), but there are a lot of us out here. Mine are only kept as pampered pets. I could eat a neighbor's chicken, but not MINE. There may be a comment on current events only if I get riled up enough. And there will always be a cartoon or a joke to cheer us. I promise to try my very best to respond to comments. Now I have to figure out how this blogger thingy works....
Oh my yes. I remember that.... I haven't been in the deep-dark cold for years now, but I definitely remember snow 'squeaking' when it was sub-zero. I think it had to be VERY sub-zero, like at least -10. But snow, when walked on definitely squeaked. I used to walk home from work. Nearly a mile, all in sub-zero temperatures - dark too!! But oh so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI remember all the hair around my face was quite short. If you didn't tuck the hair in your cap properly, your breath would freeze on it and the hair would break off. I had extremely long hair at the time so it was a bit disconcerting to have this 'halo' of short hair!!
Ah well, gone are those days, living in Texas in the year round (mostly) temperature climate has removed all that anti-freeze from my blood. (It has also caused me to take that red-pill, thus saving me from the socialist craziness of Vermont.
Fair Winds,
Cap'n Jan
Oh, Cap'n Jan! It is soooooo cold here! I have to cheang their water all the time because it freezes! I hope they make it thru this cold snap! The coop is filled with hay and straw and I have a hundred watt bulb on 24/7. It's never been this cold for so long!
DeleteSend some of the Texas sunshine up here to Joisey!
Sounds crunchy.
