Saturday morning:
Sunday morning:
The gang's water froze!
Now THAT is cold!
One hen....
Two hens.....
Five hens!!!
King Charlie was waiting and waiting in the bushes for them!
He waited for a loooong time.
:o)
Mostly about my backyard chickens. (Boring, I know), but there are a lot of us out here. Mine are only kept as pampered pets. I could eat a neighbor's chicken, but not MINE. There may be a comment on current events only if I get riled up enough. And there will always be a cartoon or a joke to cheer us. I promise to try my very best to respond to comments. Now I have to figure out how this blogger thingy works....
We went from summer to winter. The problem with that is there's no chance to sorta ease into winter.
ReplyDeleteOh, Sixbears - it has been soo cold! It is sleeting outside right now - I'd rather see snow than this!
DeleteMaybe I'm just too old and slow to catch them, but it seems like spring and fall BOTH have just about disappeared anymore. We go from too hot to too cold and back with nary a pause between.
ReplyDeleteWe had snow flurries too the other day! It should warm up a wee bit this week though ( I hope!)
DeleteSounds pretty darn cold there.
ReplyDeleteIt has been a nice transition here. We usually don't get full on winter til later, because we're below the snow belt. Looks like another good snow pack year in the high country. Much needed for the aquifers to recharge.
Maybe we'll get more snow than last year - drove passed the reservoirs today and they were really really low - you cold see the old trails on the bottom.
