  1. Glad to see you posting again. You have winter there. Is it difficult keeping you furry chicken from getting frost bite on their legs due to all the hair?

    1. Those are Silkies, Theresa. I just found that pic on the internet. They are a really cute and fuzzy breed, but take a lot of maintenance to keep them looking like that! Charlie's girls are a mix of Rhode Island Reds and whatevers. Very, very hardy boids. It gets mighty cold in Coopville during the winter!

  4. We always sold out of those chicks first when I worked at the feedstore.
    My daughter used to have one, and she called her Phyllis, after Phyllis Diller.

  5. We have one Silky in the herd. Her name is Amadeus, Her topknot looks like Mozart some days and Beethoven on others. A Silky in full gallop is a riot.
