... the other day. 110% at least! You just knew there were going to be thunder showers:
Had these mushrooms pop out all over the yard:
The gang won't go near them, either!
They are really puffy and squishy - maybe I'll knock them over with my boots today to see what's underneath. Or maybe not - they look like brains......
The gang isn't going to like the wet, are they!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen mushrooms like that. Looks like something out of a bad science fiction movie. "The Mushrooms that Ate Joisey."
It rained so hard, Vickie they ran inside the coop and stayed in there until the pen drained off! Lots of weird stuff here in Joisey!
DeleteI forget what you call them but wear gloves if you must touch them and try not to breath when you cut them out. Spores are extremely dangerous. Poison mushrooms are nothing to fool with!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'll poke 'em with a stick to see if they explode!
DeleteVicki and mohaverat are right. And remember what happened to the crew of the Nostromo when they went to check on some weird looking stuff.
ReplyDeleteYes indeed! I would hate for Chickenmom to end up with a duplicate growing in a pod under the porch! Don't go to sleep Chickenmom!ha ha ha
DeleteAh, yes! Didn't turn out too well for them either!
DeleteIf you get them before they turn black inside and spores form, they are pretty good eating. I like them sliced and fried in butter. Like a very mild mushroom.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't find them on a mushroom chart, Sixbears. Do you know what they are named?
DeleteIf they're "puff balls," they're edible while they're young and white all the way through, even if they're huge. HOWEVER, there's one that looks like them that has a tough skin on it that is at mildly poisonous. Be careful if you choose to experiment.
ReplyDelete"at least"
ReplyDeleteNah - not going to eat it - just curious! :o)
