  2. When I saw the part of the video in the cork factory where the guy had his hands next to the cork punch I thought, "I bet nobody that does that job can count to ten with their finger," and the second thought was that you couln't pay me enough to do that job.

    We make a couple of batches of wine every year and we switched to a synthetic cork a long time ago.

    The quality of real corks seemed to go down a bit every year as the price went up, and I read that was because the good corks were bought by the large winemakers and used for good quality wines. That seemed to make sense.

    Our wines range from the upper end of a good table wine to, and thankfully rarely, "OMG this is awful!" and that batch get poured down the drain.

    1. How wonderful that you make your own wine! Hubby's grandfather used to make his own wine - he had grape arbors in his back yard - It was soooo good!
