Mostly about my backyard chickens. (Boring, I know), but there are a lot of us out here. Mine are only kept as pampered pets. I could eat a neighbor's chicken, but not MINE. There may be a comment on current events only if I get riled up enough. And there will always be a cartoon or a joke to cheer us. I promise to try my very best to respond to comments. Now I have to figure out how this blogger thingy works....
Yes, I had stick broom horses too - her little 'bissel' carpet sweeper had a black handle that would screw out from the sweeper. That was Black Beauty to me! I look back to those years and loved the child's imagination I had! I never had my own personal horse, but I grew up as immersed in horses as I could be - I was what is now called a 'hot walker', for an Arab farm near me. Oh! I did it for free, in fact, I could ride 1 hour for every 2 hours I spent helping in the stable.
Oops. Gone on too long, but what a neat-o memory! Haven't ridden since I was 42 and now at 67, a bit too old to bounce!
Arabs - lovely, lovely horses. Lucky you!! I used to ride an Arab/Mustang mare when I was a heck of a lot younger. She was great little horse. I still remember her name: Cinnamon. Now I can gaze at my neighbor's horses - she has four now!
Really cool. We would have loved to gave one of those as kids to go with our cap guns.
ReplyDeleteMy Mom used to make 'stick horses' from an old broom handle and a sock with button eyes for the head... :o)
