.... cooler weather arrived. Rained hard Saturday night and woke up to a beautiful morning!
This is how it looked after I let the gang out:
'
It was a quiet day for me - Hubby went to the tractor pulls in PA with our two sons. They didn't win a trophy this week :o( He said the track was full of mud and everyone was having a hard time pulling the weights. Maybe I'll tag along next time and bring my trusty camera!
Poor Charlie begging for a treat - because he's starving to death, poor thing!
The damn deer are back - there are two of 'em running back into the woods.
You lucky, lucky woman. What a beautiful back yard. Most people don't understand that Deer can be pests. Only if they breed up and need to forage for food that is in short supply. Sort of like us.
ReplyDeleteWe used to lay out bales of hay and salt licks during a hard winter in Northern Pennsylvania. That insured that we got at least two deer for the following winter. One buck and one doe. Plenty for a family of four to survive for the long winter.
Thank you, Granny! Hubby has worked hard - that spot was all trees when we moved here. We only like to see the fawns as they are so cute; but only for the first year and then ...
DeleteWe've not seen a deer close to us in quite awhile.
ReplyDeleteStill hear coyotes howl, but no sign of the deer anymore...?
Your surroundings are wonderful!
Poor Charlie...little beggar!
They even go into the neighbor's barn to eat the hay. Coyotes abound here. I'll try to record some as call one another at night. Charlie would walk right into the kitchen if I left the door open!
DeleteWonderful photos. Loved the early morning forest shots.
ReplyDeletePoor Charlie...
Thank you! Very early morning is the best time to be outside on the deck with a cup of hot coffee - all you hear are the birds (and of course, Charlie)! :o)
DeleteWe share attitudes on the deer. They're beautiful, but TERRIBLY destructive!
ReplyDeleteThe eat EVERYTHING! No plant here is deer resistant. :o(
DeleteBow hunters are the answer for the deer. Why, if I were a younger man I would offer my services!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful yard as always! Did I read that you are going to get more birds CM?
Believe me, they know when it's hunting season!!
DeleteCharlie is begging for more hens, not treats.
ReplyDeleteI know, but he's going to have to zip it until the end of August. Maybe by then he'll be to fat to chase the new ones! :o)
Delete...you're expecting in August?
DeleteBwahahahaha!
Yup! This old chick is gonna get more!!! :o)
DeleteThose early morning photos...LOVE them!! I get up early to have my coffee out back...with the dew on the grass and the sun trickling in...a glorious time of day!
ReplyDeleteAs Barbar Cat mentioned....you're expecting in August?...Congratulations! LOL Lucky Charlie...; P
Early morning is "my" time - for a few minutes anyway! (Even in the Winter!)
DeleteMaybe Charlie will be soooo tired with the new girlfriends, he'll sleep longer in the morning!
