Mostly about my backyard chickens. (Boring, I know), but there are a lot of us out here. Mine are only kept as pampered pets. I could eat a neighbor's chicken, but not MINE. There may be a comment on current events only if I get riled up enough. And there will always be a cartoon or a joke to cheer us. I promise to try my very best to respond to comments. Now I have to figure out how this blogger thingy works....

The Emma Maersk
I was watching this Saturday night and found it fascinating. ('Hope you do, too!) I just never realized how large and complicated these ships were. Imagine being the captain with the responsibility of keeping the crew and cargo safe!
Emma Mærsk is the first container ship in the E-class of eight owned by the A. P. Moller-Maersk Group.
When launched in 2006 she was the largest container ship ever built,
and in 2010 she and her seven sister ships were among the longest container ships. Officially, she is able to carry around 11,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) or 14,770 TEU depending on definition. In May 2010, her sister ship Ebba Mærsk set a record of 15,011 TEU in Tanger-Med, Tangiers
