Mostly about my backyard chickens. (Boring, I know), but there are a lot of us out here. Mine are only kept as pampered pets. I could eat a neighbor's chicken, but not MINE. There may be a comment on current events only if I get riled up enough. And there will always be a cartoon or a joke to cheer us. I promise to try my very best to respond to comments. Now I have to figure out how this blogger thingy works....

Guess what we saw......
..... on the way to town yesterday???
This dairy farm is just a mile down the road from our house!
Baby animals... I just love calves and lambs. When they grow up, not so much. Milked way too many cows (we had 50 freshened cows in the spring and we milked BY HAND) and had to help 'dip' way too many sheep to spend much time thinking about them. But the babies.... Joy! Oh, and the cattle and sheep dogs... May have been working animals but they were my pets!
Know what you mean about the babies! Went to Tractor Supply today and ALMOST bought home new chicks... So, so tempted..... They were peeping "Chickenmom? Chickenmom!" In high school I won a blue ribbon for milking cows faster than the FFA guys at the county fair!
Awww, prettier pictures couldn't be found! The daffodil, Momma Cow and her calf...so lovely! Spring is in the air!
ReplyDeleteFor a bit, anyway - supposed to get some snow this weekend!
DeleteI always liked calving time.
ReplyDeleteThey are just so darn cute!
DeleteI found the photos strangely moooooving.
ReplyDeleteThe calves look udderly content.
LOL! Thanks for the giggles this morning, John!
DeleteWhat a treat!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a scene from a James Herriot's Yorkshire story.
Oh gosh, I loved those books AND the TV show!
