Yesterday we went over to our neighbors and sat for a spell, gabbed and had a nice glass of wine. Charlie and the girls followed us over and got a wonderful treat of lettuce and celery and spent time looking for squiggly things in their garden.
Such spoiled and pampered chickens!
I posted a present for you. look for post called "a gift for chickenmom" just something to make you smile!
ReplyDeleteIt did, Mr. Rat! Thank you! :o)

ReplyDelete'Morning! Glad 'ya got the buttons!! :o)
DeleteThanks for the memories... my hens would always grab a chunk and run off to eat it.
ReplyDeleteI like to tease them just a little bit - make 'em jump up for it! :o)
DeleteHave you ever noticed that chickens can defy physics? When I was a kid and the birds got into a food frenzy one would get a prize morsel and the others would be after her trying to take it away. A pro football or basketball athlete couldn't so what they do with that 'duck and weave' stuff! They can charge ahead full speed - and then reverse so quickly your eyes can barely follow it! It's like impulse and momentum don't apply to them...
ReplyDeleteYou should see the girls fight over a little mole! If Charlie catches it, he drops it on the ground and calls them over and then the feathers fly. Poor Laverne can't run as fast as Maude and Sophia, but she sure does try! So much fun to watch!
