How many of you remember taking a ride on these when you were a kid?
The ride would only cost a nickle or a dime.
Apparently, they still use them today:
They were even popular as toys:
Sometimes a small traveling circus would set up in an empty lot on a Saturday and would have several of these trucks around.
Don't know if the owners had to have liability insurance back then, but it must cost a fortune today!
:o)
Never saw one!
ReplyDeleteI think they were mostly used in the cities, Gorges. I remember them in the late forties and early fifties on our street. Sometimes a photographer with a pony would come by, but they were too expensive.
Delete"Ya learn sumthin' new ever day," I used to hear!
DeleteIt was fun and nice back then - it's a shame the place went all downhill. I wouldn't want to grow up there today.
