Flowers, bugs and chickens

Another hot and sticky one yesterday. Had on and off showers most of the day which just make the humidity go up even more.

A lonely dandelion:

I'm surprised we even have this many flowers on the bush this year. The deer ate it almost to the ground during the winter.

The corn is getting taller and taller.....

...... and the peppers are getting fatter and fatter!

This poor thing lost a good part of it's wing,but still fluttered about.

This bug was eating another smaller bug. Good thing Laverne didn't see it - gulp!

Big problem with Japanese beetles this year, too.

Notice M & S keep their distance from Laverne. Shirley was in the nest box taking a nap.

She takes little naps during the day now, sometimes even while hiding under the deck.
