Long Ma, standing 12 meters high, is the brainchild of La Machine’s artistic director, François Delarozière, and his team at La Machine, a French company that operates as a collaborative effort among artists, designers, fabricators and technicians. La Machine’s specialism is producing giant performing machines.
The dragon is intended as a gift from France to the people of China. It’ll be presented to China later this year as part of celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of the resumption of diplomatic relations between China and France.
There is an awesome Dragon here in N Calif. I used to see him in front of his barn on occasion when driving by to check cattle. He doesn't walk, but he does move his head and tail and flames shoot out of his nostrils... http://www.angelfire.com/id/arealdragon/page710.html
