Apples!

Went apple pickin' at a local orchard yesterday! It was a b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l day (but a wee bit too warm!)

It's less than 10 minutes from the house
It's a beautiful farm
The entrance
Riding the hay wagon up to the fields. This little girl was just adorable!

Ready for picking!
Lots of old farm equipment  to see.

Starting to fill up another basket....

.... because we filled this one up already!

They had cows, chickens and a corn maze to keep the little ones busy. We also bought a half gallon of
their delicious apple cider which is made right at the farm.

Going to be busy during the week making pies and canning apple sauce!

    1. We did have a good time - lots of nice people from NYC and PA. I think we were the only locals. Hubby keeps asking me when he should start peeling some apples! I'm gonna be busy! (sigh)

  3. Isn't it a lot of fun to watch the little ones? Hubby and I loved watching city kids see corn stalks and cows for the first time. Nice that your Grandkids will carry on the traditions with the apple peeler! And the aroma of apples cooking is just wonderful!
