Cinder block 'taters

Time to harvest the potatoes!

The blocks go around the outside of the garden to help keep the rabbits out.

All I have to do is turn them over and the potatoes fall right out.

The crop wasn't as big as previous years - most of the summer rains went right around us.

Hubby was nice enough to put the blocks back against the fence - they were getting too heavy for me!

Not too bad a haul considering they grew in cinder blocks. We'll get a few meals out of these....can't you just taste them fried with butter, salt, pepper, onions and fresh oregano? Mmmmmm!

  1. Do the cinder blocks keep out the rabbits? For real?
If so I am buying a pallet full. I have an unending war on rabbits in our back yard. Some are as bi as our little dog.

    1. The cider blocks are placed right along the bottom edge of the garden fence and so far the bunnies and groundhogs have never dug under them. This is our third year of using them. Bunnies are so cute. Wabbits - not so much! :0)
