Mostly about my backyard chickens. (Boring, I know), but there are a lot of us out here. Mine are only kept as pampered pets. I could eat a neighbor's chicken, but not MINE. There may be a comment on current events only if I get riled up enough. And there will always be a cartoon or a joke to cheer us. I promise to try my very best to respond to comments. Now I have to figure out how this blogger thingy works....

If you think...
........... that it is quiet in the country when it's dark out, listen to what I hear every night:
(around 10PM)
Coyotes!
This is why I lock Charlie and the girls in every night!
Our "old man" the oldest of our cats went missing this winter....Since we never found any traces of fur or bis remains, we fear he was a victim of coytes....They are often hrard an seen on occasion in our area. :((
Sorry to hear that, Mamahen. It's so hard when you don't know what happens to a pet. We are loaded with coyotes. Beautiful creatures, but deadly for small pets and chickens. Only one person on our road lets their guinea hens free range all over the place. Everyone else cages their chickens or keeps an eye on them when they are out.
