Mostly about my backyard chickens. (Boring, I know), but there are a lot of us out here. Mine are only kept as pampered pets. I could eat a neighbor's chicken, but not MINE. There may be a comment on current events only if I get riled up enough. And there will always be a cartoon or a joke to cheer us. I promise to try my very best to respond to comments. Now I have to figure out how this blogger thingy works....

Friday Night Steam
We are off to New Zealand tonight! Check out all the work it takes just to get this engine started!
JA 1271 with excursion consist climbing the Opapa incline
Great video. I watched it at YouTube and the comments were very good. Even one from a CSX engineer. I was wondering what he put in the smoke box through the stack at the start. Apparently it is some kind of air blower to keep smoke out of the cab when the fire is first lit. That is what I gathered from the comments anyway. And it was arrow gauge!

Lots of work to get her going! I enjoy this type of video that shows the inner workings. NZ seems to be a beautiful country, too!
