When they go in for the night, he chases them away from him on the roosting bar. Charlie is king in there. He stays on one end and the hens stay on the other. Usually they all sleep together on one end. I guess the girls pick on him when he is trying to get some sleep.
Mostly about my backyard chickens. (Boring, I know), but there are a lot of us out here. Mine are only kept as pampered pets. I could eat a neighbor's chicken, but not MINE. There may be a comment on current events only if I get riled up enough. And there will always be a cartoon or a joke to cheer us. I promise to try my very best to respond to comments. Now I have to figure out how this blogger thingy works....

Another pic
Another picture of Charlie's neck. The hens follow him around and when he stops, they pick on his poor neck until it bleeds. Why he lets them do it, I'll never know. But when he's had enough of their pecking he bites them..hard!
