go to: www.spaceweather.com/fly/bys and enter your zip code. It's an amazing site and it does work. I've used in the past to see the space station, which is unbelievable beautiful!
Mostly about my backyard chickens. (Boring, I know), but there are a lot of us out here. Mine are only kept as pampered pets. I could eat a neighbor's chicken, but not MINE. There may be a comment on current events only if I get riled up enough. And there will always be a cartoon or a joke to cheer us. I promise to try my very best to respond to comments. Now I have to figure out how this blogger thingy works....
A great site. I enjoy watching the satellites. Try just looking up after twilight but before it gets too late. Use a lawn chair. You will be supprised how many satellites will pass over.

There is a link there to a free astronomy program called Home Planet that runs on windows.
Lots of other interesting stuff on that web site. Go to the home page and be prepared to spend hours.

Thanks so much for the info on Home Planet! I remember my Dad waking me up at night to see Sputnik when I was a kid. There is good viewing where we live now; very dark - no street lights and no lights from any town. The best time is in the Winter, but it is usually so cold outside - have to really bundle up!
