Play Time....

The arrangement seems to be working out well - for now. The chicks love to explore the pen and run in and out of the coop. They are just so darn cute and loved to be picked up and handled except Goldie. Charlie is the friendliest, then Amos and Andy. Goldie has a bit of a mean streak, but he will turn out to be the most handsome. I'll just have to pick him up more. His little bites don't hurt.

 Of course Oscar, Ethel, Nina and Lucy go nuts when they see them in the pen. (Nina shows no mothering instincts whatsoever)

                                                      

 They try to bite the chicks through the fence and definitely don't like being left in the run for long periods of time. I have to let them out in the yard more than usual just to distract them. I have plenty of time for all this extra work, though and don' t mind it at all.  Like I said - for now.
